I for one am actually looking forward to life in the fizzy pop, as strange as that may seem. You can keep your Premiership with all the self gratulation about the best league in the World drivel.

I look forward to a good all fashioned league where it is a little more balanced and there are more than two teams that have a chance of claiming the title.

My understanding though re Storrie leaving was that he couldn't go before, as the last director, whilst HRMC were challenging the administrators right to be there. Once that was sorted PS could be let go of . . . .

Mark you make a good point about the Pompey mafia; the massive irony of course being Colin Farmery this and it's sistor sites editor was clearly in it.

I certainly share a certain amount of those concerns. I also live in hope that maybe (a) 'Andy Andy' possibly had a quiet word with Storrie and gave him the option of diluting his role in the way he has (albeit slightly) whilst at the same time saving some money (we will never know how much if anything without seeing the terms of the Consulatncy Agreement), and/or (b) the change to Storrie's capacity was enough to possibly create a clearer path for progress to be made with a prospective Buyer (as per the latest news in this regard). I'm still wanting to trust Andy Andy to not compromise his own integrity as Administrator and hope that maybe he is actually now "playing" Storrie to suit his own ends as Administrator and also ultimately the clubs but we will see.

Just because the Administrator is meant to be independant doesn't mean he is.

Btw, we published similar thoughts on Storrie here:

Please, please don't resign Peter Storrie:

mypompey.com/.../peter-storrie-please-don-t-resign.aspx

And Boot's exposure of Storrie here:

http://mypompey.com/blogs/goldenboot/archive/2010/03/13/goldenboot-163-86-250-payment-to-chief-witness-from-portsmouth-s-peter-storrie.aspx

re: Birmingham, Revenge? Nah!

Are we defining "cheating" as having players the club's income can't really afford? Those being (or have been) financed by sugar daddies?

Ah, ok. A list of cheaters in the Prem then (feel free to add if you think of others):

Chelsea

Aston Villa

Manchester City

Birmingham

Fulham

Blackburn (Jack Walker bought the title a few years back)

Sunderland

West Ham

Hull (rumours)

So nearly half of the teams (including Rich's) in the Premier League are cheating according to the definition set out by Rich.

In truth Rich, the PL is a league where the very, very wealthy come to play. You have Carson Yeung, Chelsea have Abramovich and Pompey had Gaydamak. The only difference is the tense. In a couple of years time, when Yeung has brought in some highly paid players that HE is subsidising, what do you think will happen if he just decides to walk out one day? Exactly the same thing that has happened to us. Same goes for that entire list.

So I'm happy if you want to define employing players the club cannot afford as cheating and I agree that every club involved should be punished. Maybe all of us should get a 9 pt penalty?

No? Don't like that idea?

Then can I advise you don't throw too many stones just in case you break your own glass house.
