A week ago I had no confidence that anyone would bother to dig into the past financial affairs but if there is evidence of seriously dodgy dealings, AA probably has no choice but to go back as far as necessary. A lot of people are upset that PS is still in place but I realy think its only to keep him nearby to answer questions, it saves the Admin team a lot a digging if he is there on hand.

whilst it does not surprise me one little bit, that money has been disappearing...what does surprise me, is that whoever was raiding the till, must surely have known that by going into administration, the cash shortage would be revealed...it does start me thinking two things.... 1, is AA as independent as he is supposed to be??..i mean he was appointed by BC, not the court... 2, is there really such a person as al faraj ??..after all the world's media cannot even find him....or is he just a name on a piece of paper, just so money can be siphoned of with the paper trail coming to a dead end........it really is like playing cluedo trying to work out who gave what and who took what.....

I reckon it was colonel blue, with the cheque book, in the boardroom.........

He needs to be both Sherlock and Watson to sort this mess out. He doesn't fill me with confidence and I so wish he was truly independent. Sure he might be a registered administrator but he's not as independent as he would be if he'd been appointed by the court or another creditor!

True what you say about AA carisbrooke. But success in the eyes of the fans will be how deep he digs, or whether he flips and flaps for a while like he did at Swindon, before merging in with the background.

Jess, although Chanrai has offered to pay the costs of administration, AA is an officer of the court and as such totally independent and impartial. He has to do his best for the creditors but in the case of unsecured creditors (small local traders) that will probably be very little indeed.

A good test of a new owners intentions will be if they clear up the HMRC debt, if that is done I feel its unlikely that Gaydamak will block the Creditors Voluntary Agreement and the club will be saved from a further points penalty in the Championship next year. If HMRC are left unhappy look out for more fur to fly.

The question is whether the administrator is acting for both Chanrai and the club. Doesn't Chanrai have to pay their bills and if so isn't that a conflict of interest?

If he wants to play for us next year, I say try and grab him. I'm sure he'd do a great job for us in the Championship. Lots of energy and run, which will be needed.

He seems to have settled into the english game now and looks a worthwhile addition to the squad. I had my doubts for a while but he's looking the part.

i presume that as a Lyon player he can not be sold out of the transfer window i was under the impression that it was only registered players at Pompey that the administrator was trying to get permission to sell

I'm sure somebody is going to want to snap him up. He's currently on loan though isn't he? So I guess Lyon would need to pay us not to play him.. or can they recall him on demand?

Apologies Stormjuice. Didn't miss you out deliberately but obviously we have corresponded previously. I think Stoke are the only team in Red & White stripes that have beaten us this season. Sunderland tried three times and failed and there aren't too many teams that can say that this season. Avram's a decent bloke and now has a certain amount of feeling for the club; unlike recent owners.

up and down the country employees have agreed to changes in their working arrangments and salaries as a means of keeping their companies afloat in the face of the recession. why is it that pompey fans are not demanding the same of the players at their club. a 30-50% wage cut would immediately make pompey an infinitely more viable entity. various contracts are in place but why not pressure players to tear these up for the sake of the club? i don't understand the mentality of fans who turn up every week to cheer on a squad of players who are bankrupting the club. They may not individually be at fault for signing the contracts (though collectively players and their agents are in good part to blame for the venality in the game) but it will be clear to each of them that their wage packets are bringing down the club.
